DYER BROOK — It did not take long for the Southern Aroostook boys soccer team to break a 1-1 stalemate.
Just 15 seconds into overtime, Jake Lassonde snatched the opening kick and scampered down the right side of the field before sending a beautiful crossing pass to Taylor Locke on the far post. Locke one-timed the ball into the net for the game-winning score. |

On Saturday, August 28, 27 runners and walkers took part in the Maliseet 4-Miler road race held in conjunction with the annual Maliseet Health Fair.
All participants received a hat with first male and female runners receiving a sweet grass basket made by local crafter Paul St. John. |

Through the torrents of rain created by Hurricane Earl, the Houlton Knights varsity football team scored early and often last Saturday. The host Caribou Huskies had a difficult time holding the Knights at bay, as the Houlton squad won, 41-6. |
